My goal with the Tie Interceptor model was to get it as close to the screen used practical models from the original Trilogy. Using hundreds of photographs taken at ILM during the making of the films, I was able to cover reference for almost every aspect of the ship.

As every detail is poly modelled, and due to the overall complexity of the mesh, I never uv'd the model. Instead, I created a procedural shader network that used a combination of 2d and 3d noise, ambient occlusion passes as masks, and edge detection for colour wear.
