This environment is used as part of the Museum of Edinburgh's "Window on the Past" interactive installation. The scene is an accurate reproduction of how Huntly House courtyard (which is situated directly behind the Museum itself) would have looked during the 19th Century. The model was based on real world measurements, historical documentation and input from subject matter experts.
The exhibit allows the present day courtyard to be viewed via a live webcam stream that is displayed on a vertical screen sitting within the bay of a window. Visitors are then able to travel back to the 19th Century by using a Leap Controller and an on-screen interface.
